Slipknot news disappeared

Slipknot news is finished until pre recording stages of the upcoming slipknot album in 2 years time the new stone sour album is coming out soon and should be good. to my surprise should be releasing an album definitly not sure if it will be available for purchase in australia, murderdolls seem to be not planning anything as yet joey is touring with ministry, sid is doing his dj starscream project and is sporting a new tattoo which can be seen in the grammy photos. im not sure if bassist paul, guitarist mick, percussionist chris,  or sampler craig have anything in the pipelines musically. i wonder will slipknot return to the iowa style album or continue along the same route as volume 3. i have noticed when slipknot stopped touring hits to this webpage completely stopped and has been very boring not finding new comments hopefully with the next installment of slipknot they will once again return to this fine country so this will be a final slipknot related entry for a very very long time unless something happens. i will continue to research the band and continue on the path to gain recognition from slipknot itself yes i know im dreaming but hey slipknot are the greatest band who doesnt want to be noticed by them

"there will be another record" Joey Jordison

SLIPKNOT members Joey Jordison and Shawn Crahan spoke to Kyle Munson of The Des Moines Register about winning their first Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" at this past week's event in Los Angeles.

Crahan, who shed tears while accepting the award, said, "It was like I was being sucked down a black hole."

SLIPKNOT snagged a Grammy on their sixth consecutive year of being nominated.

"It really still hasn't sunk in yet," Jordison said Friday from Los Angeles. "I'm glad that we didn't win it earlier," he added. "It really felt like we deserved it this time."

Clown reflects on win

As reported by Launch Radio Networks and Blabbermouth earlier today, Slipknot capped off an amazing two years on Wednesday night by winning its first Grammy Award, in the category of "Best Metal Performance", for "Before I Forget" from 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)".

But the win was also bittersweet for percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, who choked up as he spoke about his father passing away while the band was on tour. "I always knew that I was gonna lose my father," he said. "It was just hard to have that realization and have that sink in, because there's so much sacrifice you do to have your dream, it never ends and it can really hurt and it can cut in deep. But this is what we do, and this is what we were born to do, and my old man wouldn't want it any other way."

Slipknot has been nominated in the "Best Metal Performance" category for six consecutive years, but never took home the Grammy until now.

The band went on hiatus at the end of 2005 after nearly 18 months on the road in support of Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses).

Singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root are now recording the second album from their other band, Stone Sour, while "Clown" will make a new album with his side project, To My Surprise. Drummer Joey Jordison will tour this spring and summer with Ministry.

SLIPKNOT were honored with a Grammy in the "Best Metal Performance" category in the pre-telecast ceremony at the 48th annual Grammy Awards, which are being held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Wednesday night (Feb. 8).

The Iowa-based band, who were nominated for the sixth consecutive year, won for their single "Before I Forget", from the group's third album, "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)". Other nominees in the "Best Metal Performance" category included songs by MINISTRY, MUDVAYNE, RAMMSTEIN and SHADOWS FALL — all bands that SLIPKNOT have toured with.

"I'm honored to be nominated again," SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan told The Des Moines Register in December. "I have a feeling we could win this year."

"They're breaking us down to the point where we really don't care we're nominated," guitarist Jim Root stated at the time. "By the time we're so far over it, when we win one it'll be a real surprise." He added that he has a "nice collection of Grammy medallions they send you when you get nominated," manufactured by Tiffany.

The 48th Grammys are being awarded in a telecast on CBS beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Slipknot Win Grammy

Finally after 6 years of snubs, a well deserved reward for the hard efforts slipknot put into their music with a grammy win for best metal performance with Before I Forget. According to a posting on the SLIPKNOT fan site Metabolic666, the 2006 re-issue of SLIPKNOT's self-titled debut album from 1999 is scheduled to arrive on March 14 via Roadrunner.

The re-issue will be a double disc and will most likely contain live tracks, demos recorded prior to the album or possibly a bonus DVD. No information has yet been revealed on the bonus-disc material that will be included in the package.

SLIPKNOT went on hiatus at the end of 2005 after nearly 18 months on the road in support of their third album, 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)".

SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root are now recording the second album from their other band, STONE SOUR, while percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan will make a new album with his side project, TO MY SURPRISE. Meanwhile, SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison has been confirmed as the drummer for the touring lineup of MINISTRY, which will kick off a 60-date North American trek on May 6.

Vocal lessons on screaming

Voice coach Melissa Cross will release her DVD of techniques for screaming singers, "The Zen of Screaming", on February 21.

In the early '90s, a passionate and unrestrained new breed of rock singers began a journey to the extreme limits of the human voice. Heeding the call of this army of screaming warriors, forward-thinking vocal coach Melissa Cross developed a training program for the pioneers of the genre to preserve their vocal cords without compromising an ounce of their trademarked passion. Combining solid voice technique and a groundbreaking vocal workout with tour-bus humor and backstage commentary, "The Zen of Screaming" is as entertaining as it is informative. This DVD/CD is the first of its kind and a must-have tool for the modern vocalist. The instruction includes invaluable tips on vocal maintenance, actual vocal cord footage, and explicit and helpful animations which illustrate and illuminate the specific vocal exercises. Interspersed is exclusive backstage and performance footage of today's most exciting artists, with candid offstage interviews and opportunities to see these artists actually working in-studio with Melissa. Featured vocalists include Andrew W.K., LAMB OF GOD's D. Randall Blythe, SHADOWS FALL's Brian Fair, EVERY TIME I DIE's Keith Buckley, GOD FORBID's Byron Davis, Melissa Auf der Maur and more!

Here are some video testimonials:

Jordison Unavailable

A SLIPKNOT management representative has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison "is not available" to fill in for ANTHRAX's Charlie Benante for the last couple of dates on ANTHRAX's U.S. tour while Benante and his wife await the birth of their first child. It is not presently clear if Benante or another temporary replacement will sit behind the kit for the last three shows of the tour.

SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner will fill in for ANTHRAX's Charlie Benante for the last couple of dates on ANTHRAX's U.S. tour while Benante and his wife Sandra (who is currently in labor back home in Chicago) await the birth of their first child. As a result of this unexpected development, the group's show in Boulder, Colorado Wednesday night (Jan. 18) has been cancelled.

Micks Signature Guitar

We can see that the sign indicates that the red shell case does come with the guitar but is only for display, and that the list price for the US is $1732.32.Ibanez does have a history of not lowering their list prices by very much,so the average joe will not be able to afford this guitar. The rosewood fretboard on the guitar is extremely evident(compared to Mick's ebony fretboard on his guitar),but it will in no way change the feel/playability of the guitar.

Ok in replying to this coment that you left you are clearly have a pre conceived notion that metal is only screaming, your choice in music does not neciseraly make you fucked up for example many people think that the pop music of kelly clarkeson is fucked up some record label arsehole making shitloads of money off peer presured teens. Clearly Metal has many sub-genres and if you asked any fan of metal its not just about screaming. Don't judge a person for the type of music they listen to or the culture they come from nor the clothes they wear thats pretty norrow minded. I have a life slipknot has a life they are out they living while your siting at home judgeing people for what they are not who they are. If you were "fucked up" by this kind of music fair enough thats you not me. I'm not going to waste my life trying to please people im not going to change because somebody else has seen the light.. and im sure your mum only screams because your back sees more bed than your quilt... and please if your going to leave a coment dont be a spineless arsehole and not let me contact in return if your reading this leave your hotmail address and we'll chat about this
